Federal Civil Rights and Employee Discrimination Insurance provides protection for employers against Civil Rights Acts based upon discrimination and retaliation by an employer on the basis of an individual's race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, handicap, or marital status. This insurance is mandatory and is provided by the Department of Financial Services.

This coverage is designed to protect Florida State University and managerial staff from claims by employees against other employees.  These claims are handled by Employment Labor Relations within Human Resources in conjunction with the University's General Counsel and Department of Financial Services.
